We are four weeks into the NFL season and as injuries start piling up and signings of the offseason begin to underperform, teams around the league make additions to their roster to address their needs. This means that former members of the Dallas Cowboys get a chance to re-establish their careers on new teams.

The latest Cowboy to sign with a new team was linebacker Rashaan Evans. The former first-round pick out of Alabama is signing with the Atlanta Falcons according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

NFL News: Rashaan Evans Returning to the Falcons

Evans most recently played for the Cowboys last year. In October 2023, Dallas had signed Evans to their practice squad and then to their active roster. He appeared in nine games (one start) and registered nine tackles, receiving a 45.8 PFF grade during that span. Right before the end of the regular season, Evans was arrested for possession of marijuana and was subsequently released by the team.

Before his stint with the Cowboys, Evans spent four seasons with the Titans, playing a big part on the 2019 Tennessee team that made the AFC Championship game. After the Titans did not exercise his fifth-year option, he joined the Falcons for the 2022 season before arriving in Dallas.

The two-time CFP national champion and the No. 22 overall pick, Evans failed to live up to the expectations as a pro. Now, he has a chance to find success in his second stint in Atlanta. The Falcons currently have Troy Andersen and Kaden Ellis as the starters at linebacker and Evans will try to crack the rotation.
