It's been a rough offseason for the Dallas Cowboys and their fanbase. After being told by Jerry Jones that this team would be aggressive in improving the roster, that wasn't close to being the case.

Instead, the organization didn't make any splashy signings and they also have contract extensions looming for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys must find a way to retain their superstars but the latest drama surrounding Parsons and safety Malik Hooker just made things harder for Jerry Jones at the negotiating table.

Cowboys News: Micah Parsons Got Bashed by Malik Hooker

Hooker went on the "All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson" podcast, where he called out Parsons' dedication to the game due to him having his own podcast.

That statement certainly rubbed Parsons the wrong way. The Penn State product responded online before deleting the post.

He said via the Dallas Morning News, "Just wish you said this to me but instead on some podcast! And you got my number family! @MalikHooker24 and you my locker mate! So you coulda said this any day! And you do realize I shoot the podcast on our off day! Why ain’t we talking about everyone preparations and focus.”

Having your superstar get called out by a teammate online is never a good look. Especially someone of Parsons caliber.

He is one of the best defensive players in the NFL and is due for a massive contract extension. But all the extra drama surrounding the team and the lack of extensions done on the fronts of Parsons, Lamb, and Prescott puts even more pressure on Jones.

When you have a superstar player, you'll do anything to keep him happy and keep him around. We all know Jerry Jones loves the limelight and having a player like Parsons on your team keeps the intrigue high.

The highest-paid defensive player in the league is Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers at $34 million annually.

Parsons will certainly look to shatter that number and he has the stats to back it up. In three seasons, the 25-year-old has logged 213 total tackles and 40.5 sacks.

Now with the contract drama around Lamb and Prescott in combination with Parsons being called out publicly by a teammate, the three-time Pro Bowl may ask Jerry Jones to make him the highest-paid non-QB in the league.

With Jones' love for star players and not wanting to alienate Parsons, the 2021 first-round pick holds all the leverage.
