The storylines continue to follow the Dallas Cowboys all throughout the year and that hasn't stopped this offseason.

The discourse started after the Cowboys' disappointing Wild Card round loss to the Green Bay Packers. Things continued to stay on the negative side after they didn't make any splash signings to improve the roster.

That in combination with the contract extensions looming for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons, the Cowboys can't catch a break this offseason.

The latest news regarding Green Bay just added even more pressure onto Dallas.

Dallas News: Jordan Love Eligible to Sign Contract Extension

Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love is now eligible to sign a contract extension. On May 2, 2023, Love and Green Bay agreed to a one-year extension worth up to $22.5 million.

In 2023, Love was seventh in the NFL in passing yards (4,159) and second in passing touchdowns (32). He also notched a playoff victory over Dallas and is going to cash in on his next deal. We've already seen the wide receiver market get driven way up this offseason, and a new contract for Love will do the same for quarterbacks.

Earlier in the offseason, Prescott and Dallas came to an understanding of his contract and didn't plan on negotiating a new deal yet, but the Cowboys will want to re-consider that if they're serious about getting him to stay.

The top four highest-paid QBs in the league are all getting $51 million plus AAV and that number could rise if Love gets a new deal from Green Bay.

The longer the Cowboys wait, the more money they'll have to dish out to keep Prescott around. The QB market only continues to rise so if Jerry Jones wants the 30-year-old to be here for the long haul, sign him now.
