After a disappointing 2024 campaign, the Dallas Cowboys are going through a transformation this offseason. The Mike McCarthy era came to an end after five seasons and the Cowboys are looking for a new head coach to take them to the next level.
While Jerry Jones is continuing the head coach search, the Cowboys are at real risk of losing more valuable assistants. Dallas has already seen special teams coordinator John Fassell leave for another opportunity this offseason.
As NFL teams attempt to revamp their coaching staffs, coveted Cowboys assistants are getting a serious look. Most recently, the Miami Dolphins interviewed Cowboys WR coach Robert Prince, per ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques.
Cowboys At Risk of Losing Coveted Assistant Coach

Prince has coached the Cowboys wide receivers since 2022 and was in Detroit with current Dolphins QB coach/pass game coordinator Darrell Bevell from 2019-20
Prince has been with the Cowboys since 2022. Previously, he has held the same position with the Lions and the Texans. The experienced assistant may choose to reunite with Dolphins QB coach Darrell Bevell, with whom he worked in Detroit for two seasons.
The Cowboys may have an entirely different coaching staff on the sidelines next season. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is the frontrunner to become the next Cowboys head coach. How he will fill out his staff remains to be seen but the Cowboys will have to look for a new offensive coordinator.
Losing experienced assistants like Prince will make things harder for Schottenheimer in his first head coaching stint. Having assistants who have organizational know-how and who are familiar with the players can be extremely valuable for a head coach, especially a new one. The Cowboys need to act quickly in hiring their new head coach so that they can start retaining their valuable assets and building the right staff.
