Just a couple of weeks ago, Texas Rangers fans were wondering if their team would even make the playoffs. Now, they're World Series favorites.

After winning the first two games of the ALCS against the Houston Astros on the road, the Rangers are in the driver's seat with the series shifting to Globe Life Park. Texas has a chance to close out the series at home if it can win two of the next three games and prevent the series from heading back to Houston.

With the Philadelphia Phillies leading the NLCS 1-0 over the Arizona Diamondbacks, they still need three more wins to reach the Fall Classic. The Rangers are one win closer and will also have home-field advantage next round regardless of who they play, which explains why they're now favored to win the 2023 World Series.

Rangers World Series Odds

With the easiest path to the Fall Classic, Texas now has the shortest World Series odds at multiple sportsbooks (as of Tuesday, Oct. 17). FanDuel has the Rangers at +110 to win it all, for instance, while DraftKings lists them at slightly more profitable odds (+125).

Texas has won all seven of its postseason games thus far -- the only team that's still undefeated in the playoffs. The Rangers haven't lost since their regular-season finale in Seattle on Oct. 1, which was over two weeks ago. Given how well they've been playing lately, they may never lose again.

Texas is positioned to keep rolling, too. Not only are the Rangers at home for Game 3, but they'll also have their ace Max Scherzer on the mound. This will be Scherzer's first game back since he suffered a shoulder injury on Sept. 12, but his return should give Texas a major boost in its quest for the first title in franchise history.

The Rangers were already unstoppable without Scherzer. Now that they have him back, their championship hopes look even better.
